I’m proud to call Rotorua home. My family has lived here for generations, and I am deeply connected to our lakes and rivers. I’ve fished them, cared for them, and understand both their beauty and fragility. I share life with my partner, Terry Tapsell, and I’m a proud mother and grandmother. Keeping our communities safe and protecting our environment are my top priorities.

With over 40 years of experience in governance and leadership across the housing, environment, education, tourism, health, forestry, and engineering sectors, I have developed the skills to navigate complex issues, balance diverse interests, and bring people together to achieve results. I’ve led award-winning climate adaptation projects, driven large-scale housing and environmental restoration projects, and built strong partnerships with farmers, industry, and communities.

Currently, I’m a director of a local company building 100+ new homes in Rotorua, and I oversee projects in wetland restoration, education, and trade training. My career has included Chief Executive and General Manager roles, national policy work, and leadership across education, health, and tourism. Along the way, I’ve been humbled by recognition such as the NZ Planning Institute Supreme Award (2023) and being a finalist for New Zealander of the Year (2015).

Outside of work, I love fishing, walking, and reading, and most of all, time with family.
